Puppy Medication What Age Is Too Old Or Too Young To Begin Giving My Puppy Heartworm Medication?

What age is too old or too young to begin giving my puppy heartworm medication? - puppy medication

I have a pug puppy, which is about 7 months. It proposes, but I would now give him medication for the prevention of heart worm as soon as possible, but I heard that he do something before a certain age ... Is that true? I think someone told me I should start 6 months ... Can it be as effective if I start now? I hope this is not true, about the need to do before the expiry of 6 months to ... I wonder what are the facts.
Thank you!

FACT you can always restart the dog on heartworm interceptor per month. BUT .... to have to take the dog to the vet and an initial heartworm test to make sure that your dog has worms and the adult heart, where your dog can be done as a preventive treatment, in fact, very harmful to your dog.

You need to talk to your veterinarian for a heart worm test, and then start the dog on monthly prevention.

Rogue Thugs your vet maybe something else.
My training, however, a test required before prevention. My professional training or even the heart of the hat!
So NO I am not wrong, just an idiot.

It is now time for the HWP start. They should not be tested before the age of 9-10 months. HW can not be detected until they adults who are in just 6 months after the first infection of a mosquito. HW HWP killed after the infection, so the name (prevention) are of heartworm disease is misleading. They are actually no parasites that kill may already be there. In any case, you may now start (or interceptor programs are good), because it also provides a general-wormed. And while the vet, you've created HWT. No real vet HWP sell after 10 months of age, without HWT. If young adults have HW, HWP and you could easily kill him as the heart of the HW-block to his death today.

Heartworm prevention is usually started in puppies four weeks of age or older, and weighing two pounds or more. As with any heartworm prevention for dogs heart worm must be tested before use.

It is necessary to consult a veterinarian before starting treatment. There are many types of heart-worm prevention exist, and only your veterinarian can decide what is the best.

Heartwork is very serious, then you should contact your veterinarian and begin work on prevention month.

No, it's not too late to start your puppy on the prevention of heart worm. However, all dogs must be older than 6 months have a blood test can be administered heartworm negative returns is still prevention.
